Educational Mission of the WCV School District:

It will be the mission of the West Central Valley Community Schools to provide a sound educational experience that meets the needs of the students in a safe and friendly atmosphere. This experience will include awareness of culture, promotion of citizenship, preparation for future employment, and development of life skills through the support of parents, teachers, students, and community.

Educational Philosophy of the WCV School District:

The system of free public education is a great constructive force for the preservation of freedom and advancement of the American democratic way of life. The ultimate purpose of education is to help students become effective citizens of democracy. As a school corporation of Iowa, the West Central Valley Community School District, acting through its board of directors, is dedicated to promoting equal opportunity for a quality public education to enrolled students and toward being responsive to the educational needs, values, and aspirations of citizens.

The board believes that the school has an important role in helping to improve the quality of living in the community. Students of this community have the privilege of participating i formal education utilizing the students' present understandings to help them grow in the present and prepare for a lifetime in our rapidly changing society.
